Working holiday for two weeks in Meinong was a great experience for me. This was my first time for working holidays. Gateway from the city, get closer to the natural was a great idea. I really need some fresh air and me-me moment.

Day 13: homemade passion fruit ice-cream day!

We reached around 2.30pm on the first day. It's quite surprised when I lopped off the bus. I knew Meinong was a small village but I never thought it was so 'small'. Smaller than what I had expected.
Erica came and picked us up to her home first. And we met her two cute sons. We went to a river after that. Unfortunately, it was raining heavily after few minutes we arrived there. We then went to the hostel that we need to stay for the following days. The village we stayed was small, silence and relaxing. I think this is a nice place to stay when you want to get away from the big city and want to have some self moment.

We settle down everything and decide to go to the supermarket to do grocery shopping at town. The people here were really friendly and nice. A woman showed us the way to town while we get lost by riding her motorcycle and sent us. We actually kinda regret when we ride halfway because we ride for 16km just to get to the town and back to the hostel! My gosh, I can't feel my butt already. I was totally exhausted when I reached the hostel. We cooked instant noodles and vegetables because it quite late and we are damn hungry. To describe my first day, tired and full of surprises.

On the second day, there were jobs assigned by Erica for us today. We swept and mopped the whole building today, including bathroom and balcony. Trim the plants and etc. After finished the jobs, we went to the grocery store and cooked our lunch at home. We decided to rest at home today as our butt and thigh still not allow us to ride for a long way. It seemed like heavy rain around 3pm so we decided to went to the nearby grocery store again so that we can keep some food (typhoon these three days), bad timing. When we wanted to back home, uh-oh, it started raining and it was a heavy rain. We are unable to go back without an umbrella or raincoat. We waited for a while but too bad, raining non-stop and we decided to back home. This was my first time riding in the heavy rain. A cool experience. We cooked our dinner and have some relaxing time in the night day. And we called it a day.

We went to yellow butterfly valley today after breakfast by bicycles on the third day.

There are paddy field, trees along the way to the destination. And not forgot to mentioned that there were a lot of butterflies along the way. So we felt excited although the we have to ride for a long way. Those who love naturals definitely like these places. We stopped beside a directory board before continue the journey. I actually just wanna have a look at the board to know where we still can go beside yellow butterfly valley. There were three uncles inside a grocery store which nearby the place we stand asked where we were heading to and showed us the place. How nice and friendly they are which showed me again the people in small village is really nice. We then reached the destination and look for the butterflies. Too bad the butterflies hide at the rock which we were unable to reach them. We have a job assigned by Erica today which was we have to write down at least five names of trees in the forest. It was an easy job yet a little hard because not all the trees had a title board on them. And there was a strong wind while we looking for the trees which kinda scared us as there was a typhoon warning during the week. We decided to have lunch before back to hostel. It was a tiring day but I kinda like it because I love getting sweat. And sometimes we should get close to the natural.

During the days in Meinong, we slept earlier and woke up earlier. And I felt really good. We made breakfast and dinner some of the days, did our daily tasks, get close to natural, relax and sweat a lot. I was getting healthier day by day!

We had also cooked lunch in Erica's place for two times. We did some gardening stuffs after lunch and spent some time in the garden. It was actually my first time doing those stuffs, but it was kinda fun though.

I knew a Taiwanese backpacker during the stay in the hostel. We talked a lot and so much laughter. She travelled for 15 days around the Taiwan by bicycle. She was awesome. That's why I love travelling. We can meet different people from different countries and learned different stories.

I had some thoughts during the working holidays. There was one day We headed to 中正湖 after brunch. Luckily it was a sunny day when we riding to there. It's a beautifully peaceful lake. We ride around the lake, took pictures and rest a while. We then headed to the town and had some snacks at the 7-11. It's raining outside so we just sit in the convenient shop. We took everything slow down today. Different with the previous trip and vacation which I went, rushing and rushing. Sometimes we need to slow down and make things right.

We went for hiking today! We went to 雙溪熱帶樹木園 after lunch. Too bad we cannot reach the peak of the forest because there was a block on the way to the peak. It did not take long time to hike the forest actually. I love getting sweat and I love working out. It boots my positive thoughts every time after the work out. We then went to see the yellow butterflies.

Luckily there were some professional butterfly researcher taking pictures of the butterflies so that we have a chance to see the butterflies and a little knowledge about butterflies. After that, we went back to hostel because too tired. We just rested at the hostel for the rest of the day.
